DIRECTOR’S CORNER
As our school year comes to an end, I’d like to thank you all for your support and kind words. You’ve been a wonderful group of parents to work with. MCC is truly lucky to have such great families! Many of you have been so generous with your donations and your time. Most of all, thank you for having such wonderful children and sharing them with us. This is such a bittersweet timeJ
Thanks to all who came to our amazing Art Show; what a great turnout we had!! Each year we feel it is the best event we put on, and this year was no exception. Your kids are so talented, and always so proud to have their work displayed.
Hope you enjoyed them as much as we didJ
To those families who are moving on please remember us and stop by to visit if you can. You all will be missed! We always love to reconnect with our former MCC parents and children.
If your child will be with us during the summer, we want you to know that he/she will probably be in a new room with a different teacher. If your child is going to be in our PreK program in the fall, he/she will be with Ms. Wendy in her room. If your child will be in the Nursery program in September, he or she will be with Miss Kristin in the Big Hall. The todds are lucky enough to be with Miss Donna. Please let me know if you have any questions about your child’s summer experience with usJ
END OF THE YEAR BIRTHDAY WISHES GO OUT TO: Lilly (6/24), Emily (6/11), Anna (6/24), Andrew Cook (6/12), & Tyler(6/3). We wish Lillie, Colin, Aidan, Sophia, Seamus, Chatham, Riley, Noah, Sadie, Peyton, Christopher, & Sam the best summer birthdays ever!! (Sorry if I inadvertently left anyone out)
FUNNY PAGES
I asked the kids in the Big Hall if anyone knew what a pebble was. One little guy yelled out, “It’s what I use to make my bike go.”
A boy in Mrs. Lupo’s class told me I should go to Bermuda because, “There is any kind of snack in the world at Bermuda”.
A boy in the Big Hall was asked if he had to go to the bathroom. Very seriously he replied, “No, my bladder is empty.”
A boy in the Big Hall got his curly hair cut with a summer buzz. I asked him what happened to his curls and his reply was, “My dad took them.”
SUMMER STAFFING NEWS: We’ve got some great new additions to our staff that we are very excited about!!
1. Sarah Bouchard will be joining us once again this summer for the fourth year in a row. Sarah has just finished up her year at Bridgewater State College, studying Biology.
2. Two sophomores who attend Franklin High School will be helping out. Nicky Holland & Ally Traphagen will be starting in mid-June after school is out. Since they are only 15, they will never be left alone with your children. I can tell you all they are wonderful kids, and are greatly looking forward to their second year working at MCCJ
CLASSROOM CORNER
Toddler Class – We can’t believe the school year has ended and the summer is right around the corner! This year was truly amazing; watching the todds grow was such an awesome experience for us all. We hope that you enjoyed the time as much as we did. Donna and Debbie are sad to see the kiddos move to the Big Hall, but are so happy for them-they are ready to go! Kathleen will be in the Big Hall next year and can’t wait to see them again! Of course, we will take plenty of trips to visit Donna and Debbie as I know the kids will want to visitJ Have a wonderful summer, enjoy your kids as we will too with the ones here with us in the summer; see you in the fall!
Kristin’s Class (AM) – Our class has been busy observing many forms of nature this month such as plant growth, and insect body parts (how many legs does an insect have-6, how many legs does an arachnid have-8). We have also been busy caterpillars crawling around and waiting to metamorphosis into a beautiful caterpillar. The end of the year is here and I’ll be sad to see all my children move on and I’ll miss them dearly but I’ll look forward to seeing them come and visit me from time to time and hearing stories about their new PreK experiences. I also want to take a second to thank all my parents, your support throughout the year was fantastic and I couldn’t have done it without you all!! Best Wishes, Kristin.
(PM) – Our PM Pals have been busy going on a bug hunt in May. We’ve found ants working together as a team, worm digging tunnels and bees collecting nectar to make honey. Our class loves to ask lots of questions like “Why does a bee have a stinger” and “Do bugs hatch from eggs?” I think we have lots of brilliant children at this school, don’t you?
Elizabeth’s Class – Happy Summer (almost)!! Well, May was a great month, we were very busy with our Art Show; the children loved showing off their best artwork. We all had fun watching the classroom’s caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies. The kids loved learning how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. Now that I have gone over all our many activities, I want to thank you all for sharing your children with Miss Trish and me. We’ve had so much fun watching them grow and learn. Please make sure to come by next year and say hello! The last day of school is Tuesday, June 9th. Please have a wonderful summer and I hope to see you next fall. Thank you again for all of your support this year.
Ms. Wendy’s Class – I am sad as I sit here and write my last “blurb” for this school year. It really has been a fantastic year. A big thank you to all of the children and parents for making this a great year. I will miss you all! Please feel free to stop by any time to visit. I always love to see how much your child has grown. They leave behind some fun memories. They have all come such a long way from September…writing their names, learning the alphabet and gaining lots of self confidence for next year (we’ve even gained some knowledge in Spanish!) Thank you for attending our annual Art Show. The children were also very proud to display all their hard work. Wishing you a very happy summer!! Thanks again for a great year!!
Mrs. Dowd’s Class – This has been a fun, busy time in our class. Didn’t the children do a fabulous job with all their masterpieces for the Art Show? We finished the alphabet. Thank you all for participating in our weekly letters with your child at home. They are a great addition to our class and the children loved studying them and finding the ones they decorated. This has been a year of tremendous growth and development for your children; it continues to amaze me how far they have come since that first day in September. What a great bunch and a joy to teach. I will miss them, but I know they are on to their next exciting adventure. Have a happy, safe summer. Please come by and visit next fall! GO SOXJ.
Mrs. Lupo’s Class – What a great year! Thank you all for sharing your children with me. We had a great month of May making our counting books, Mother’s Day Gifts, and preparing for the Art Show and Graduation. Thank you all for coming to the Art Show and I know I’ll see you all again at the Graduation. Please drop your child off to their classroom by 9:00, and find a seat in the Church. Graduation begins promptly at 9:30. Hope for cool and sunny weather. It’s a wonderful day, so please bring siblings, extended families, etc. ALL ARE WELCOME!!!!
Fondly, from all of us at MCC

IF I HAD MY CHILD TO RAISE ALL OVER AGAIN – DIANE LOOMANS
If I had my child to raise all over again, I’d finger paint more, and point fingers less.
I’d do less correcting and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes off my watch and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I’d run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power, and more about the power of love.

I WISH YOU DANDELIONS AND MUD PUDDLES by Kelley Small, Publisher of Today’s Parent
When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff they can wish on.
When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money. I look away. My kids see someone smiling at them, and they smile back.
When I hear music I love, I know I can’t carry a tune and don’t have much rhythm, so I sit self-consciously and listen. My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words. If they don’t know them, they make them up on their own.
When I feel the wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it, until they fall to the ground laughing.
When I pray, I say “thee” and “thou” and “grant me this”, “give me that”. My kids say, “Hi God, thanks for my toys and my friends. Please keep the bad dreams away tonight. Sorry, I don’t want to go to Heaven yet. I would miss Mommy and Daddy.”
When I see a mud puddle, I step around it. I see muddy shoes and dirty carpets. My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross, and worms to play with.
I wonder if we are given kids to teach or to learn from? No wonder God
loves the little children!! Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you
may look back and realize they were big things.
