FUNNY PAGES
A little girl in Mrs. Lupo’s class spent the night at her grandparents. When Mrs. Lupo asked if she had a good time she said, “I did, and so did my mom, she had no kids so she got to go to a restaurant!”
Mrs. Lupo’s class was studying the ocean. One little boy remarked that he loved sea stars. Mrs. Lupo asked why and he said, “Cuz you can throw them like Frisbees”. (Don’t ask if you don’t want them to answer!!)
A Toddler was having a great time hammering in the far Toddler Room. A little friend who was in the adjoining room heard the noise, but didn’t know it was a friend. He asked Miss Donna if that was Santa Claus on the roof!
Mrs. Dowd was reading a particularly long story. She accidentally yawned and one little boy admonished her, “Mrs. Dowd, you should really get more sleep!”
Jordan (our High School assistant) was talking to the kids one afternoon and mentioned his dad does security and valet service. One of our little afternoon friends piped up, “I know what valet people do, they dance!”
This same little friend who is a dance lover chimed in one Circle Time out of the blue, “When the President is sick in the hospital, the Vice President is in charge.” (Thanks for the history lesson!)
One little boy in the Big Hall informed Mrs. Lupo that he was going to be Batman for his Valentine’s Day party this yearJ
CLASSROOM CORNER
Toddler Class -– Slowly spring is arriving! We were able to uncover the strollers and visit the ducks! The kids were so excited that they ran in place as we brought out the strollers. We had so much fun making all the valentines for our families and friends. Again, we are so proud of the children that completed their potty training!! It’s so nice to see how proud they are to become a “big kid”. We have started to learn our numbers and count our fingers. Hopefully the boots and snow pants will be packed away for a wonderful March!
Kristin’s Nursery Class - Hello Everyone!! Id’ like to start off by saying thank you to all; you made our Valentine’s Day so very special with all of the cards and treats. The children truly enjoyed delivering their valentine’s and liked receiving them as well. As a reminder please check your child’s cubby to make sure they have an extra set of clothes. It’s that time of year when going out tends to make our apparel wet even through our snow clothes. If you would like to come in to read a story to our class, please see me to schedule a time that’s convenient for you and our class. ThanksJ
Elizabeth’s Nursery Class - Wow!! Just a couple more weeks of winter and then we have spring!!! We had a great February. The kids love the Dinosaur weeks and loved making all our special Valentines. The party was a huge success. Thank you to all that participated and helped make or bring something. All my kids loved filling the Valentine bags. I appreciate all you parents do for my classroom. We ended the month exploring colors. The children loved mixing different colors and seeing how they made new colors. We are ready for March and have a lot planned. Cross your fingers for lots of sunshine!!
Ms.Wendy’s PreK Class - They say that time flies when you are having fun, and February went by so fast because lots of fun things happened. We had Ms. Sarah from Stony Brook come and visit us and teach us all about making tracks from animals in the snow. Also, we enjoyed a nice visit from Peyton’s grandmother. We also had a great Valentine’s Party. Thank you to all who gave me positive feedback on our “Party in a Bag”. The children really seemed excited to open their bags and see all their favorite treats along with some surprises. I will now continue the tradition of Party in a Bag every time we have a party J We also covered the letters “N”, “O” and “P”. We had fun celebrating the letter “P” in our Pajamas! Please let me know if you have any questions regarding your child’s progress report. I am always available to talk (1:00-2:00 would be best). We look forward to spring and warmer weather coming!!
Mrs. Dowd’s PreK Class - It seems like we just celebrated New Year’s and now February is over!! We were so busy in our class. We introduced the letters “N”, “O” and “P”, had two Valentine celebrations, had our monthly visit from Stony Brook and Miss Lorraine from Walpole Dental taught us about keeping our teeth healthy. The month ended with “P” week and we had a pajama day complete with popcorn. “Party in a Bag” was a new idea in our class. I hope you enjoyed it as much as your children did. Please be on the lookout for “My Favorite Storybook” notices later this month. Spring is almost here, as is one of my favorite days-opening day for the Red Sox!!
Mrs. Lupo’s Transtional Class - We learned lots about dinosaurs this month and still found time to make long word lists of letters “P”, “Q” and “R”. The children are getting so good at thinking of words with the beginning sounds. Our “P” list had over 75 words (and I finally stopped adding words to the list by ThursdayJ) Our Valentine Party was a great success, thanks for all of your contributions. Many of the children thought that it was the best party ever! Cookies, frosting, and small candies…who wouldn’t like that?!?! Thanks for all of your help with their valentines; the children did a great job matching the names on the Valentines to the correct baskets! We are still trying to get outside as much as possible, please check daily to make sure the kids have the correct accessories in their backpacks. We’ve been missing many hats and mittens. Spring will be here soon we hope…but not yet! The groundhog told us 6 more weeks-THINK SPRING!!
HAVE WE TOLD YOU LATELY WHAT A GREAT SUPPORT GROUP OF PARENTS YOU ARE?
