WHO IS WHO AT MCC SOUTH STREET

Wendy Bennett – I have been a teacher at Medfield Children’s Center for 16 years and have loved every minute of it!  I have had the opportunity to teach both the Nursery and PreK classes and have enjoyed both.  The kids are all good storytellers!  I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Bridgewater State College.  I then went on to get certified to be a Director.  I have always known that I wanted to work with children.  In addition to teaching, I also work for a pediatrician and volunteer as a Big Sister, both of which I’ve done for over 17 years as well.  I am a very active person and spend most of my time in the gym (often referred to as my second home).  I keep myself busy since there isn’t much I don’t enjoy doing!

Elizabeth Caputo – Hello Everyone!  I am looking forward to my fourth year at MCC.  Last year was a great year for me.  I loved having my own class in the Big Hall.  Kristin and I had fun creating a new and inviting environment for all the kids. This year will be just as exciting.  I graduated from Presbyterian College in South Carolina with a BS in Business and a minor in Psychology.  After 18 years of being a Flight Attendant for Delta Airlines, I decided to pursue a dream of mine.  At 40, I started teaching PreSchool in Dover and then came to MCC.  I am certified to teach PreSchool and live with my husband Stephen and daughter Catherine in Medfield.

Jordan Cohen – I will be a senior in high school this year.  I am 17 years old.  Outside of the children’s center, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, writing and reading.  I’m hoping to get into some of the more local area colleges to become eventually, a teacher.  I’m not sure yet which grade, but I think it will be fun and rewarding wherever I teach.

Cindy Dowd – Hello!  I have been a teacher at Medfield Children’s Center for the last 19 years (16 years teaching PreK).  Prior to joining the staff at MCC, I taught Nursery School in Dover for 3 years, taught PreSchool gym and swim classes at the Needham YMCA for two years and even spent a year teaching High School Physical Education in Auburn, MA.  I have two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Early Childhood Education and the other in Physical Education.  I am also certified by the Office of Child Care Services as a Director.  I live in Dover with my husband Henry. We have three children, Sam (31), Nick (28) and Emily (24).  Sam has a wife named Jen and they have a daughter named Lilly, my first grandchildJ  She’s in the Big Hall here at MCC!  Leo, our dog, now has to vie for my attention!  I like to share this information with you because I love to talk with the children about my life outside the school.  Many think I live at MCC!

Margaret Higgins – Hi, I will be 18 on 9/6.  I will be a senior at Medfield Senior High School this year.  When I’m not at MCC I like to hang out with my friends and family, draw, read and play with my animals, hike and listen to music.  I plan to go to MassArt because I want to be an art teacher. Although lately I have been interested in possibly teaching in a PreSchool, maybe even MCC!  I love my job. I love the kids here, and I love coming to work every day!

Robin Holland – Hi Everyone!  I am going into my 17th year at MCC and can honestly say I’ve loved every minute of it.  I started off as a PreK and Nursery teacher.  I then worked as Assistant Director, Director and now Owner/Director.  I loved being in the classroom and am always glad when I have a chance to substitute.  I graduated from Saint Anselm College with a BA in Psychology and from Southern Connecticut State University with a Masters in Psychology.  In both of these programs I’ve taken numerous classes in early childhood, along with other classes in early childhood at Dean College in Franklin where I live.  I have three great children, Nicky (14), Zacky (11) and Kacey (8).  All three have attended MCC, and Nick now works here during the summer and vacations!  I have a wonderful husband, Michael, who helps out a lot at school doing computer “stuff” for us, or anything else that needs doing.  He does most of the shopping for the school and is known at the Franklin BJ’s as “Day Care Man”.  Our last family member is our four year old Bichon Frise Maggie Mae.  When not at school and when the kids are in bed, I can usually be found with a good book or watching my beloved Yankees on televisionJ

Eric Kevorkian – Hi All!  I'm really excited to be getting back to MCC on a daily basis!  For those of you that don't know me, I’m a former Toddler Teacher of 3 years and have worked within the center for what will be going on 6 great years.  I'm a graduate of Dover-Sherborn Regional HS, and attended Bridgewater State College graduating with a degree in Psychology, minoring in Communication.  I have always loved working with kids and am looking forward to meeting a lot of great new families, and re-aquainting myself with the familiar ones!

Maureen Lupo – I graduated from Framingham State College with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  I joined MCC as a PreK teacher in 2001 after working almost 20 years in corporate retail environments.  I live in Norfolk with my husband Jim, 12-year-old son Matthew and Rocket, our four year old Westie.  This will be my 8th year teaching at MCC. I have taught both the PreKindergarten and Transitional Classes.  I look forward to another rewarding year at teaching the Transitional Kindergarten program at MCC!

Sharon Maillet

I joined MCC’s “family” after receiving a degree in education from Framingham State College in 1993 and I have happily been here ever since.  I returned to FSC a few years later to earn a Master’s Degree in Special Education.  It was back to school again in 2001 to complete a Director’s course at Dean College.  Now it’s just school at MCC, my favorite school of all!  After eleven years as a PreK and Nursery teacher, I sadly left the classroom, but excitedly moved into the office as Director!  I love being Director and working in the office where I get to hear the happy noise of the classroom and get to hear and see the laughter, conversations, and smiles of the kids as they walk by.  I visit the classroom every chance I get and love the times I get to substitute!  Thank you for sharing your children with us- they make each day unique and fill the school year with cherished moments!

When I’m not at “home” at MCC, I’m at home in Milford where I cherish every moment with my own “little one!”  Now, because of Josh (who is 2 ½ and growing too fast), the fun follows me home and I get to keep singing, dancing, playing, creating art, reading…..

Kristin Masterson – Hello Everyone!  As many of you know, I am a Nursery teacher in the Big Hall.  I have been very lucky to teach at this wonderful Center for going on 8 years.  I started my teaching career in Plainville in 1994.  The next step on my journey to MCC brought me to the Norfolk Public School system in 1997 working in the integrated PreSchool Program.  I learned so many things from these experiences that I use to make a great classroom here at MCC.  I look forward to meeting the new faces and welcoming back the old ones.  Being at MCC and working with this tremendous staff, parents, and children has been extremely rewardingJ

Geena Matuson - "I'm Geena, a senior at Medfiield Senior High. Generally, I like to do things involving art and writing, or reading, as well. Entertaining is something I like to do, so I delight in doing things with and for the kids. Playing with them is fun for me too, I enjoy it.

Trish Mileti - Hi!  I’m so excited to be joining the MCC team!  I’m an experienced, loving and proud Mom of two daughters, eight-year-old Lauren and six-year-old Maddy.  Maddy is an alumna of MCC and she had a terrific preschool experience here.  The program is great and the staff members are wonderful.  Now that Lauren and Maddy are both in school full-time, I have the time to take on this new responsibility and I can’t wait to get to know your children and you.  I grew up in New Jersey where I earned my bachelor’s degree in marketing from Kean University in Union, New Jersey.  Prior to being a stay-at-home Mom, I was Public Relations Manager for a real estate company in New Jersey.  We moved to Massachusetts seven years ago and to Medfield shortly thereafter.  We love this town and the people in it.  I’m really looking forward to a great school year!

Donna Sexton  - Hello!  My career began as a speciall education aide in the Holliston Elementary school system which I held for over 10 years.  This will be my 3rd year at MCC, and my 2nd year with my own class room, the toddlers.I reside in Holliston with my husband Mark & 2 children, Kathleen & Matthew.  Working with kids has always been my true passion in life and I am so grateful to have this opportunity at MCC.  It’s going to be a great year.

Kathleen Sexton – I can’t believe how fast my first year at MCC went by!  I absolutely loved meeting, teaching, playing and laughing with all the children.  They have grown so much and it was nice to watch them develop over the year.  I look forward to teaching the todds this fall.  I spent time with them this past year and enjoyed it very much.  I especially love to hear the new words come from each one every day!  I truly find the todds one hysterical little bunchJ

Debbie Wilson – Hello, my name is Debbie Wilson, or as I will be referred to at MCC…Miss Debbie.  I am so excited to join the MCC family as a teaching assistant in the Toddler Room and would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.  I am the mother of two wonderful teenage girls, (13 and almost 16), a loving golden retriever/collie and two playful cats that we rescued two years ago from a shelter.  My girls have kept me actively involved in just about everything you can imagine.  I’ve chaperoned almost every school field trip from pre-school up through fifth grade for both of them, been room parent, girl scout leader and Service Team member for six years, ran the Girl Scout Father-Daughter Square Dance for three years, coached the youngest level of Pop Warner cheerleaders and was the equipment manager for the cheerleaders for three years.  Whew!!  Aside from all my volunteer work I have provided day care for children of friends and acquaintances of mine for the past 15 years and have worked in the Holliston Elementary School system as a special needs, one – on – one paraprofessional where I also provided classroom support to the teachers and acted as substitute teacher when available.  Now…I’m finally here and can’t wait to meet everyone!!
